about

The compositions on this album were originally conceived as a kind of reckoning with memories, some dark and some less so, culminating in acceptance and ultimately transcendence.

Upon completion of the album, however, a somewhat less personal theme presented itself: a response to an encroaching madness that surrounds us. The album's title is an expression of the feeling of living in apocalyptic times, when more and more of us experience the sensation of existing in a state of sustained uncertainty. In this sense, a personal confrontation with demons seemed to also apply to our universal situation. But in both cases, an end can be a beginning. Let us hope that our collective reckoning with turmoil, while feeling like an end, is instead the beginning of a transformation into something different.
